Seven Layer Bars

Tom has been requesting Aunt Dorothy’s “Quick Cookie Squares”.  Sue had the recipes, but suggested this one to try instead…

Ingredients

1 c coconut
1 stick of butter
9 graham crackers crushed
1 c finely chopped walnuts
1 c chocolate chips
½ c white chocolate chips
½ c toffee bits or butterscotch chips
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a 13 x 9 pan with foil, then spray with baking spray.  Set aside.  Spread coconut on a baking sheet and toast for 8 minutes. Set aside. Put butter in prepared pan and put the pan in the oven to melt the butter. Once the butter is melted, take it out of the oven and sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs until they are wet. Sprinkle walnuts over top of graham cracker mixture.  Then sprinkle the chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, toffee chips and then the toasted coconut.

Pour condensed milk evenly over the entire dish. Bake until top is golden brown, about 25 minutes. Cool about 2 hours and cut into bars.
